OUR PASTOR

This year is Rev. Dwayne S. McCain's Eleventh as pastor of Little Zion. Prior to his initial assignment here Rev. McCain served as pastor of Grace UAME Church in East Orange, NJ and as pastor of Peter Spencer UAME Church in Utica, NY, spending five years at each charge.

The initial assignment to Little Zion was also a homecoming for Rev. McCain. He started attending church here in late 1989, as a guest of Sis. Gale Minor. They would marry in April of 1990. During that time he joined the Gideons, an association of Christian business and professional men who spread the word of God by placing Holy Bibles throughout the world and by sharing their testimonies.

After serving as a Gideon Camp President for three years, Rev. McCain continued growing in the Lord, receiving the call to ministry in October of 1997. Between that time and the time of his ordination in May of 2000 he developed a tract ministry, taught Bible study, and initiated a home bound ministry that video recorded church services for members who could not leave their homes.

Rev. McCain is committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. His goal is to serve this present age through community centered ministries. Through the church's Emergency Food Pantry, Rev. McCain helps serve over 2,000 Households annually. "We share with them the mission of the church and let them know that we are here for them, to pray with them share the Word of God with them."

OUR CHURCH

Our founders opened the doors at Little Zion to offer a place to worship, praise and develop a full relationship with God, living under the salvation made possible through God's greatest gift, Jesus Christ.

That tradition continues today through Sunday worship, Thursday Bible Study and several community focused initiatives. And like the founders, our doors are open to all who are looking for God's love and truth.

We believe in God the Father Almighty, the maker of Heaven and Earth and in Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit. For more on what we believe click here

And if you want even more detail on our church, feel free to stop by for Sunday service at 11 a.m., for Bible Study at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, for our food pantry distributions at 10 a.m. on the 3rd and 4th Saturdays of each month (unless otherwise noted), or anytime our doors are open.
